{Precious Moments} BabyLove Eats on Her Own
Last Friday, me and my BabyLove went out to the mall to buy a mosquito net to fend off mosquitoes which I've talked about in my previous post here. Aside from her mosquito net, I also bought her a bib with a pocket to catch any falling food. And, for the first time, she ate by herself. :) Ain't she cute?
Hope everyone is doing fine.. :)
Cheers!

Time has allowed baby bibs to evolve. Many have reinvented it and have made it look extraordinary like what your child was using!
ReplyDeleteIt's really prudent to buy the mosquito net and keep your baby inside. This way, dengue is prevented :)
You are right, Farida. Lucky for this generation that they have these kinds of bibs already. I've already seen bibs with pockets when i was little, however, they were mostly available in the US only or if there was any here, they were ridiculously expensive..
DeleteYep, I try to keep my BAbyLove safe from mosquitos as much as I could.. :D
Wow! Lucky you she's trying out to eat on her own. I spoiled my sons too much, ages 4 and 6, so until now they wait for me or their nanny to feed them. In school, yes, they eat alone but at home I can't push them to sit and eat by themselves. I couldn't take the risk of letting them go hungry, huhu!
ReplyDeleteHiya Gaylee!
DeleteI also was doing the same thing, feeding my BabyLove so that I can assure that she eats well. However, I saw that she had an interest in eating on her own because she'd get my spoon and fork and would imitate me. So, I figured she was ready and would enjoy eating by herself.. Haha! She never complains when I place her in her high chair, unless she's been sitting in it for too long already.,.. Haha
Your daughter is doing great :) I remember my eldest during that age, we still feed her because cleaning the mess is much time-consuming. That kind of bib is practical and will save us from cleaning the crumbles on the floor.
ReplyDeleteI also thought the same thing.. I always fed her, thinking that it would be less work to clean up. However, they wouldn't know how to do it unless they do it themselves. And so far, she doesn't make much of a mess. I think it is also because of the spoon she is using. It is small and shallow, making it easy for her to put the food in her mouth. I found that teaspoons were too "deep" and the food wouldn't slide into her mouth. LoL! The bib did help with the mess.. No more messy floors and high chair, and especially the clothes!! Hahaha
DeleteGood job! The first time my daughter ate by herself ang daming kalat but it was good training. We can bring her to restaurants to eat and we have not trouble at all.
ReplyDeleteYep.. I think the mess really goes with it. She'll learn to control it come a time.. hahaha! xD I remember my small bro really making a mess when he was small.. So, I thought, what the heck.. xD
DeleteMy daughters are still dependent when it comes to eating. Except for finger foods. I wish my eldest will adopt to this one soon.
ReplyDeleteAwww! I hope they grow out of it. I decided I'd let my BabyLove make a mess and learn how to eat on her own so she'd learn.. Takes up time, yes, but I think it is working for me. :)
DeleteGreat to see your little girl reach another milestone- self feeding. It sure feels great right??
ReplyDeleteIndeed! Makes me one proud Momma!
Deleteyou sure is a proud mama.. I was also proud and excited when the little one ate his food for the time all by himself :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha! So accomplishing, right? It's as if I was the one with the accomplishment! Haha!
Deletecheers mommy! my two older children started to feed themselves as soon as they can hold the spoon...
ReplyDeleteSame here. I was hesitant to let my BabyLove feed herself because of the mess, but, all kids go through it at one point int time, and it won't take forever anyway.
DeleteTeehee! Same kids natin mommy! :) Congrats!
ReplyDeleteYay for us!! Hahaha! Congrats din.. :P
DeleteAnother proud mama here hehehe :) most pala mommies na :) Maybe someday I will feel the pleasure you all feel seeing your little angel eat on their own ^^.
ReplyDeleteAww! The right moment will come. I am sure you will enjoy these milestones too in the future! :D
DeleteAt first it was messy to have them eat alone but it was nice to see kids trying to eat on their own.
ReplyDelete-daddy allan (visit from BCB)
Yep.. It was frustrating at first, but I found it was more tiring to tell her NOT to make a mess, because she will still do. Haha!
DeleteNice one baby! I like the bibs. Is it made up of silicon or plastic?
ReplyDeleteIt's like the material they use for tarpaulins? Glossy in the front, and somewhat like fabric. Haha! Then, the "pocket" spreads out by undoing the snaps for easy cleaning. :)
DeleteSo cute indeed. I didn't know bibs now have pockets to catch falling food. Hehe. How old is she? She looks pretty indie in that pic.
ReplyDeleteThere still are the traditional bibs, but like the one my babylove has, there are bibs with pockets as well. :D
DeleteShe is now 1yr and 7 months, turning 1 yr and 8 mos on the 11th. Yep, she sure is a really good gal, trying to be independent. :D
what a smart kid you have. She now learn how to ate by herself at her early age..cute!
ReplyDeleteOh yes she is! Can't you just imagine how proud I am!? :D
Deletei wish i can see the pocket part... :-) planning to train my boy soon too! he wants to hold the spoon na kasi hehehe
