RANT: To Google+ Comments or To Not?

Isn't Google+ Comments driving anyone else cray-cray? Coz', right now, it really is driving me nuts.

I switched to Google+ Comments because I like the look and feel of it. However, just recently, since I got back to blogging, I found it hard to locate the newly-left comments, and it's honestly frustrating. I don't know if it's just me or I just haven't figured it out. It would've been great if I was actually notified that someone commented on my post, and how many comments each post has. But, Google+ Comments, apparently, does not have that feature.

It's really hard to keep track of the comments I receive from the BC Bloggers CommEx. Although I really have no issue whether or not EVERYBODY on the spreadsheet left me a comment, because I firmly believe in the honesty of those bloggers. And yet, we all want to know if someone left a comment right? Plus, I think if you are not a Google+ account holder, I think you can't leave a comment. =/

In this case, I think I will be forced to switch back. I want everyone to have the opportunity to leave their thoughts on my posts, so I think this is the best.

Well, so much for my rant. Share your experiences with Google+ Comments. Do you love it? Do you loathe it like I do? Let me know in the comments below.

EDIT: For those who left their comments via Google+, no worries. I've already seen them and acknowledge. If ever I do miss some, the err is on me. :) I just couldn't take not being notified of new comments. Rest assured, I won't be changing back anytime soon. :)

Cheers!

    1. I agree. Unless they fix that teenie little problem, I won't be going back to it anytime soon. I might try suggestions made by other bloggers for comment handling. :)

    1. Oh yes, don't risk it. LoL. You won't be able to keep the comments made on Google+ if you decide to switch back to the old comments. So, better not switch yet. LoL

  4. I haven't had problems leaving comments with blogs using Google+ but I am not personally using it in any of mine. My favorite so far is Disqus but it doesn't giving me a handy link to the Commenter's blog so that's a downside. Intense Debate is okay too.

  6. Hi, Yhey! Well, first of all, welcome to CommEx! I'm a (technically) single mom, din. I don't use Google+ comments, but I admit wanting to try it because it does look good. Wala palang notifications? Bakit? Ako, I use IntenseDebate because of the CommentLuv plugin. You might want to try it!

    1. Hello Marie. Well, I am not new to CommEx anymore, but I've been away for a while. But, thanks for the welcome! It's great to be back.

I asked myself the same question with Google+ comments, why no notifications!? Now that I've been seeing a lot recommending Intense Debate, I might just give it a shot. :D

  7. I tested Google+ comments as soon as it hits the public few months back. But I decided to go back with my default seems the Google+ comments looks a bit buggy and lacks support.

  8. I use wordpress commenting interface. I do not really like commenting when I am asked to login first. I like your commenting space now where I have the option to input name/url only.

    1. I agree. I do not like when my readers have to login first. Which is why I opted out of it. I know how frustrating it is to be asked to log in first just to comment.

    1. Same here. Every comment I receive makes me happy. :D which is why I want to keep track and reply to most of them. :D

  16. Well perhaps that's the down side of it. You can't easily checked and track your readers' comments. It may be interesting but I prefer the old ones.

    1. Yep. it sure is interesting, and yet, I do prefer the old one as well. :D Everything has a pro and con to it. I guess Google+ comments still has a lot of cons. LoL

  17. Hi, Marielle and welcome to the BC Bloggers Family! I still use the old bloggers' commenting platform and it is pretty hard to keep track of the comments cuz I dont get notifications. I would like to try disqus like what most sisses in BC use, pero later na hehe Hey, I followed you!

  18. That's one of my major disappointment with G+ comment platform...I tried using that on my other blog and I couldn't keep track of new comments in one place...they are all cluttered in my G+page...so I switched back to the native comment platform of blogger. My main blog (the health blog) uses Disqus platform.

    1. Yeah. I get confused on my Google+ page, particularly which post belonged to who. It was frustrating, and I did not want to cause any confusion as well to other readers, which is why I opted back to the old commenting platform.
